Brian F. Clish, age 65 of Sugar Grove passed away peacefully at home April 25 after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Tressa (nee Clark), son-in-law to Mary Clark; preceded in death by parents Richard F. and Helen (nee Lhotka) Clish; Loving father to Meghan (Ryan) Grace; loving stepfather of Phillip and Krissy Tierney, Matthew and Missy Tierney; grandfather of Matthew and Meadow Grace. Brother of Richard J. and Mary Ellen Clish, Barbara Clish and partner Mary Keeffe; uncle of Brett and Kati Clish and Shannon and Douglas Giertz.

Brian was a proud member of the Lyons Police Department, Chief of Lyons Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department and a 25-year retired Captain of Broadview Fire Department.  Brian knew from an early age he wanted to become a public servant and that's exactly what he did. He spent his adult life serving and protecting the public and was very proud of his accomplishments. He fought fires, saved lives and delivered babies. His greatest love was his ability to teach/ train fellow employees so they could perform their duties in a safe manner. Brian went to New York after 9/11 to aid in the cleanup efforts with other first responders.

Brian is remembered for his fun loving personality, love of the Chicago Blackhawks and pride in being part Irish.
