Michael Robert Modica of Holland, MI, passed way Saturday, October 12, 2012 at Holland Community Hospital.  He was born May 20, 1954, at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee Falls, MA.  Michael enjoyed his recent retirement spending time with his family, watching sports, playing cards, chess and crossword puzzles.  He had a degree in culinary arts.  He had a passion for cooking at gatherings with his friends and family.  Michael’s favorite sports teams were the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox.

He is preceded in death by his father Frank Modica and his son Dominick.  He is survived by his spouse Maria; mother Janet Modica; sister Mary Ellen (Tom) Coogan; brother Frank Modica; son Tony (Kim) Modica; son Ian Felan; daughter Christine Marshall; step sons Rosendo (Dania) Rocha, Jr; John (Renee) Rocha; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson
